  • Observatory - MAGNA CHARTA UNIVERSITATUM: The Magna Charta Universitatum, a declaration and affirmation of the fundamental principles upon which the mission of universities should be based, was signed in 1988 on the occasion of the 900th anniversary of the University of Bologna.
    The first principle was independence: research and teaching must be intellectually and morally independent of all political influence and economic interests.
    The second was that teaching and research should be inseparable, with students engaged in the search for knowledge and greater understanding.
    The third principle identified the university as a site for free enquiry and debate, distinguished by its openness to dialogue and rejection of intolerance.
  • EUA - European University Association: EUA (European University Association) is a collective voice of European universities representing over 900 members and affiliates from 49 European countries.
    Key activities of EUA include: Advocacy: Promoting and advocating policies related to higher education and research.
    Expertise: Identifying and analyzing emerging trends and issues, as well as sharing best practices among members.
    Governance support: Offering activities for mutual learning, exchange of experience, and transfer of best practices. 
    -International cooperation: Fostering partnerships in higher education and research globally to strengthen the position of European universities. 
  • IAO - International Association Of Universities (International Universities Bureau): The International Association of Universities (IAU) is a membership-led non-governmental organization working in the field of global higher education. It has more than 600 members in over 130 countries, including institutions, organizations, affiliates, and associates in higher education. The IAU was created under and is an official associate partner of the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). 
  • United Nations Academic Impact: United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) is an initiative that aligns institutions of higher education with the United Nations to support and contribute to the realization of UN goals and mandates.
    -Key objectives of UNAI include: Promoting and protecting human rights.
    -Ensuring access to education.
    -Addressing sustainability and conflict resolution.
  • GUNI - Global University Network for Innovation: GUNi (Global University Network for Innovation) is an international non-profit network established in 1999 by UNESCO, the United Nations University (UNU), and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC).
    -Objectives of GUNi: Promote innovation and collaboration in higher education.
    -Facilitate the integration of technology in teaching and learning. 
  • COARA - Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment: CoARA (Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment) is a collective of organizations committed to reforming research assessment methods.
    -Key objectives of CoARA: Recognize the diversity of research outputs, practices, and activities.
    -Emphasize qualitative judgement in assessment, with peer review as a central element.
    -Support the responsible use of quantitative indicators.
